Hybrid Series, 2020

The series dissolving the boundary between the body and the object question the ways in which bodies are controlled, shaped and objectified by various power mechanisms. Sorar uses the images and textures of skin and bodily hair he considers as his own body’s residue to cover the objects that are in contact with the skin. As the body is objectified, it generates explicitly hybrid structures placed within the void, the latter being defined by the objects’ disturbing effect. This sinister environment invites us to question our reason and concepts like the body, politics, gender and form.
